We Lead the Project. We Don't Cut Framing Corners.

TAV Construction is an interior finishing specialist by trade — tile, flooring, drywall, full bathroom and kitchen finishing. When a project's scope reaches into framing, we don't pretend to be a structural carpenter. We lead the project, manage the schedule, and bring in a licensed framing crew who answers to us, not to you.

What TAV Owns

Project plan, permit, schedule, sub coordination, finish standard, single point of contact, and a guarantee that the framing layout supports the drywall, tile, and flooring work that lands on it. You call us when something isn't right — not the framer, not the GC's voicemail.

What the Sub-Trade Owns

Structural carpentry, code-compliant beam and load calculations, framer-grade tools and crews, and Mississippi licensing for the work performed. We pick the sub. The sub answers to us. You see one project, not two trades.

  • Open-concept conversions — load-bearing wall removal with engineered LVL or steel beam install, properly supported during demo.
  • Additions and bump-outs — foundation, framing, dry-in coordinated as one phase before the finish trades arrive.
  • Attic and basement build-outs — code-compliant headroom, egress, and joist reinforcement for new living space.
  • Structural framing repair — sister joists, sill plate replacement, header reinforcement on older Lafayette County homes.

The reason we work this way comes down to one observation: framing failures rarely look like framing problems on day one. A floor that bounces, a door that drifts open, a tile crack along a beam line — those show up months after a finish job is signed off, and they trace back to framing decisions made during demo. When the same contractor leads framing and finish, the framer is sequenced, supervised, and held to a tolerance the finish work can actually live on top of.

For Oxford and Lafayette County homes, especially older properties around the Square or in mid-century neighborhoods, this matters more than most homeowners realize. The framing standards have changed across decades. New work has to integrate with old framing, not just sit next to it. That sequencing decision is what TAV manages on a full-scope renovation.

Framing & Project Lead — Common Questions

Straight answers about how we structure full-scope renovations.

1

No. We lead the project and bring in a licensed framing crew we've vetted and worked with for years. Our role is project management, sequencing, and finish coordination so the structural work integrates cleanly with the rest of the build.

2

You can — and for a single-trade job that's often the right call. But when framing is one phase of a larger renovation that also needs drywall, flooring, tile, and finish, you want one point of accountability for sequencing and quality. That's the role we play.

3

Open-concept conversions (load-bearing wall removal with proper engineering and beam install), additions, attic and basement build-outs, deck framing, and structural framing repair on older homes. We don't take on new-construction shells.

4

Yes — every sub on a TAV project carries Mississippi general contractor or trade-specific licensing and current liability insurance. Documentation is included with the project file.

5

TAV pulls the permit and manages inspections. The homeowner's name does not appear as the permit holder, which protects you on resale and insurance.
