Our Standards

Three standards. Zero shortcuts.

01

The Finish Counts

Visible surfaces define a project's quality.

When a project is nearly done, the final surfaces — the grout line, the drywall seam, the floor transition — are what either prove a contractor's skill or expose their shortcuts. We work like the finish is the whole job, because for the homeowner it is.

02

Correction & Perfection

We fix what other contractors left behind.

Most of our Oxford work starts with a homeowner pointing at something that should never have been left that way. We have spent years cataloging how finishes fail — and we build every install to avoid the same mistakes.

03

Specialists, Not Generalists

Four trades. Mastered. Nothing else.

We do tile, flooring, drywall, and the bathroom + kitchen remodels built on them. Not framing. Not roofing. That discipline is why our crews see the same failure modes repeatedly and build institutional knowledge that generalists never accumulate.

Non-Negotiables

What we insist on — every job.

A short list of trade standards that never flex, no matter the deadline or the budget. They're written into every contract so there's nothing to argue about on install day.

§ 01

Schluter Kerdi Waterproofing

Every wet zone gets a certified Kerdi or Hydro Ban membrane. Cement board alone is not enough for a shower that will last thirty years.

§ 02

Level 5 Drywall Finish

A full-wall skim coat that reads flat under raking light. The standard for high-end interiors with gloss paint, designed lighting, or flawless expectations.

§ 03

Substrate-First Install

Moisture tests, laser levels, and sub-floor correction happen before a single board or tile is installed. Most failures start where you can't see them.

§ 04

Mississippi Humidity Protocol

Materials acclimate on-site to real room conditions. We choose nail, glue, or float install based on the subfloor — not the contractor's schedule.

§ 05

Documented Process

Substrate photography before tile goes down. Seam locations logged. You get a record of the work we corrected, not just the finish photo.

§ 06

Zero-Shortcut Policy

Written into every contract: the scope we price is the scope we build. No quiet substitutions when the wall opens up and the estimate gets thin.

Beyond the interior

Lead the whole project — keep the finish standard.

TAV also leads full-scope residential projects — bringing in trusted licensed sub-trades for framing, roofing, and stucco when your job needs them. One point of accountability, one finish standard, start to permit-close.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Straightforward answers about interior finishing work in Oxford, MS.

1

We stay in the interior envelope: tile, flooring, drywall, and the bathroom + kitchen remodels built on them. We don't take framing, roofing, or exterior trade work. That focus is why the finish holds up.

2

Yes — Mississippi General Contractor with liability and worker's comp coverage. Certificates available before the first day on site.

3

We measure on-site moisture before any plank is cut, acclimate materials in the room for several days, and match installation method (nail, glue, float) to what the subfloor actually needs — not the fastest schedule.

4

A full-wall skim coat that produces a paint-ready canvas with no visible seams under raking light. We charge for it where the space demands it (glossy paint, dramatic lighting, high-end interiors) and we're clear about scope upfront.

5

Yes. Every project includes substrate photography before tile or flooring goes down. You see what we corrected, not just what the finish looks like.

6
